Villas to Rent in Spain Interview Name of your website?Villas to Rent in Spain Your name? James Your Location (city, etc) Salobrena Please give us a short summary of your website? A site which I have recently set up to promote the rental of my villa on the Costa Tropical, Spain. Featuring detailed descriptions and various photo galleries.~~ What inspired you to launch your own website? Previously I had set up sites for my estate agency, so it was nothing new and I hope in the long run to be able to avoid paying the large travel sites such as ownersdirect 200 euros a year. When did you launch your first website, and what was it? I took over a website as I acquired more responsibilities in the estate agency (3 years ago?)and that led me to launch a new site about 2 years ago. How did you decide on a name for your website? I wanted to have some keywords in there and as it is a personal site, not a directory I decided to add "my" as the more obvious names were already taken. What makes your website different from other, similar offerings? For those owners doing their own sites there are many fairly basic and dated sites which do not represent their villas or the area well. This one is also set up as a blog to make it easier to add content to. What is your eventual goal? (To sell it, keep it for income, secure a book or other mainstream media deal?) To get lots of traffic to the site and hopefully the villa will rent well. How does your investment of time and money balance against your success? It is only 3 weeks old, too early to say! If you had an unlimited development budget for development, how would you change your site? Use of more video but would prefer to put the money into promotion rather than site development If your site got really big, really quickly, would you be able to keep up with the demand? All I need is 52 clients a year (one a week) then it is fully booked! What unexpected costs and headaches have you had to deal with? None yet, much of the costs are related to the property itself the website costs about a euro a month to host and setting up WP and adding a few pictures is not rocket science. What has been your biggest challenge? Getting it to number one in Google in 3 weeks, never expected to be able to do so though. I think the biggest obstacle for anyone is allocating time, everything takes longer than expected. What method has been most successful for promoting your website? Still working on the basics. I do have access to some sites which are right on topic which I use to point good links to my new site. How has running your website differed from your expectations? Very time consuming and results are slow to happen How long have you run the site already, and how long will you continue to keep it up if you don't enjoy big gains in traffic, income or popularity? Only 3 weeks, I will continue with it while I own the property. I plan on putting the most effort in now and less later. What makes your villa attractive It is large and modern with 3 bedrooms and bathrooms located leas than 40 minutes from Granada. It features a 13 meter swimming pool with jacuzzi and spa and lots of outdoor and shaded terrace areas. The house has tropical gardens and is very tranquil and restful. The views are stunning and despite the high 30 degree C temperatures you can still see snow on the Sierra Nevada mountains. What is your website address? Villas to Rent in Spain |
