An online listings of properties currently for sale in Tenerife, Canary Islands. Anybody interested in property in Tenerife can search online among our large portfolio of properties. We also have a guide to purchasing and other relevant information to Tenerife.~~ What inspired you to launch your own website? It was the way our business was going with such an international clientel from all over the world and Europe in particular. Now people can research the market from home and arrange appointments to view properties prior to arriving in Tenerife. When did you launch your first website, and what was it? The Property Gallery was launched in 1997 and since then Tenerife Property Gallery. How did you decide on a name for your website? We were already trading under the name so it made sense to stick with it. What makes your website different from other, similar offerings? We are constatly working on upgrading it, we have a very large portfolio of properties for sale and we are updating it on a daily basis so that our clients always gets the most up-to-date information. What is your eventual goal? (To sell it, keep it for income, secure a book or other mainstream media deal?) We employ some lovely people that are obviously relying on us for their livelyhood and we very much intend to continue doing so. The business is more than that to us, as through it we have met some great people that has over the years become friends. Some live here permanently and others we only see when they come on holiday. How does your investment of time and money balance against your success? You defenitely put in both more time and money that you earn, but instead we live on a beautiful island in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean with fantastic weather vertually daily so we cannot complain. If you had an unlimited development budget for development, how would you change your site? Probably by adding more pages and features about Tenerife. If your site got really big, really quickly, would you be able to keep up with the demand? Yes. We are all prepared to work hard and if that means showing property to potential clients all day long so be it. What unexpected costs and headaches have you had to deal with? The Spanish "maņana" sydrome can drive you crazy and it takes a while to get used to businesses being closed between 1:30 pm - 5 pm. Ourselves we keep to European hours 9 am to 5 pm. What method has been most successful for promoting your website? Local newspapers and magazines, but we also do a lot of internet advertising these days. How has running your website differed from your expectations? It has made it so much easier to get the word out there of great property bargains on offer. How long have you run the site already, and how long will you continue to keep it up if you don't enjoy big gains in traffic, income or popularity? We are here to stay. How has the current doom & gloom in the property market affected you? A lot of property owners that are selling have been reducing the price of their properties or are considering taking offers, so there are some great deals to be had and a lot of potential buyers recognise this and are taking advantage of it.
